About Jill

Jill Boltz (Hunter) is a former Olympic athlete who represented Great Britain in the 1988 games in Seoul, and Barcelona in 1992.

Born in Hexham, Northumberland, Jill started off her impressive career at the Blaydon Harriers Athletics Club where she came to prominence as a cross-country runner in 1988.

She came ninth in the World Cross Country Championships in Auckland before running her best ever 3,000metres at the Zurich Grand Prix, finishing in 8:47.36.

In 1989 she won the AAAs National title at 10,000 metres to earn Commonwealth selection, winning the silver medal behind Scotland’s Liz McColgan, at the Games in Auckland.

She had perhaps the best year of her career in 1991, where in April, she broke Cathy O’Brien’s 10 mile World Best on the roads in New York. In June, at the European Cup in Frankfurt, she ran her lifetime best 10,000m – in 31:07.8 – and finished second behind Kathrin Ullrich.

Her performances saw her move to fifth on the world all-time list and ranked her the world’s number three.

Later that year Jill set another World Best this time for 25km on the roads 1.24.26.

As of now Jill is fifth on the UK all-time list for 10,000m, 10km road, and 15km road, while her 10 mile road best still ranks her second – with Paula Radcliffe the only British woman to have gone faster.

Jll  wants to share both her passion and her expertise with others in order for them to believe & achieve.

What some of my online runners have to say:

Jill sure got my mojo back after doing nothing for close to 8years I have just completed my first 5km and now plan to run a 1/2 marathon next year

 Betty

I still find it hard to believe that I earlier this year not only completed but ran a 5km race and soon will be racing 10km - all thanks to Jill

 Gordon

I must admit sometimes when the training feels tough that I hate Jill but once I have achieved that goal it soon dissappers with nothing but satisfaction. Thank you Jill for believing in me.
